Huda Akil, Ph.D.

Dr. Akil is Co-Director of the University of Michigan’s Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience Institute, and the Gardner C. Quarton Distinguished University Professor of Neurosciences, as well as a faculty member in the U-M Department of Psychiatry. Her research focuses on understanding the neurobiology of emotions, including pain, anxiety, depression and substance abuse.
